3 surprising ways to use coconut oil

The craze for coconut oil is nothing new. In fact, it is a topic that we have heard about a million times and yet, it never gets old. You would think that by now we have discovered all of the reasons why coconut oil the holy grail of oils. Now before you go running to pick up a jar, note that the only way to maximize its full potential is to use unrefined and organic only.

Using coconut oil as an acne treatment

1. As an Acne Treatment

I am sure women with oily and acne prone skin are cringing at the thought of putting oil on their faces - but hear me out. Coconut oil is anti-microbial and helps heal those little red bumps without stripping your skin like harsh products do, products you really should not be using anyhow. For an extra glow, add a few drops of lavender essential oil.

Using coconut oil for eye lashes

2. As a Lash Fortifier

I love the look of full and lush lashes but sadly years of lash glue and extensions in my line of work has made my lashes weak. Luckily, by applying a tiny bit on my lashes and lash line, my lashes are moisturized, fuller and growing longer.

Using coconut oil for shaving

3. As an Anti-Bump Cream

Shaving is the pits. Period. But hey, we gotta do what we gotta do. Yet do we really have to suffer those embarrassing bumps? Keep them at bay by soothing your skin with coconut oil immediately after shaving. In fact, keep legs smooth by shaving with it as well, you'll just have to replace your razor every time, a small price for a smoother shave.
